Hidden message QR code generator
Type a secret note, love letter, scavenger-hunt clue, or surprise. The QR code stores the text itself, so a phone camera shows the hidden message when it is scanned — no website, no account.

A hidden message QR code is a QR code whose payload is the message itself. There is no landing page and no short link. Point a phone camera at it and the secret text appears on the screen.
That is the difference between this tool and a generic QR code generator. The URL generator is for websites. This page is for secret message QR codes — love notes, table clues, gift-tag reveals, classroom puzzles, and scavenger hunts.
How to hide a message in a QR code
- Type the note you want the scanner to read. Keep it under 1,200 characters; shorter is easier to scan from a print.
- Leave error correction on H (about 30% recovery) unless you need a denser code.
- Download the PNG and print or share it. The SVG is there if you need a vector.
The code is generated in this tab. We never see the message.
What happens when someone scans it
iPhone Camera and Android camera apps treat a text QR as a snippet, not a link. They show the hidden message. They do not open simplecaseconverter.com. If you want the scan to open a website, encode a URL on the QR code generator instead.
This is not encryption. Anyone with the printed or on-screen code can read the text. Do not hide passwords or private keys here. For characters that look blank in a chat box, see the invisible text generator. For a random secret to tell someone rather than print, use the password generator.
Print and scan tips
- Use the PNG, not a screenshot of a tiny on-screen code.
- Keep a white quiet zone around the modules. Do not crop to the black squares.
- Do not stretch the image. Scale it uniformly.
- Test with a phone before you tape the code to a gift or a wall.
High error correction is the default so a crease, a bit of glare, or a slightly small print still reads.

FAQ
Questions, answered
What is a hidden message QR code?
It is a QR code that stores plain text instead of a link. Until someone scans it, the message stays off the page. After a scan, the phone shows the text — it does not open a website.
Is the message encrypted?
No. Anyone who scans the code can read the message. That is the point of a surprise note or scavenger clue. Do not put passwords, keys, or private data in a QR code you print or share.
Will iPhone and Android show the message?
Yes. Camera apps treat a text QR as a note: they display the payload. If you need the scan to open a website instead, use the QR code generator with a URL.
How long can the secret message be?
Up to 1,200 characters. Shorter notes produce a simpler code that scans more reliably from a poster or gift tag.
Can I print it?
Download the PNG, keep a quiet white margin, and avoid stretching. High error correction (H) is on by default for print.
Does my message leave the browser?
No. The hidden message QR code generator runs in JavaScript on this page. Your paste is not uploaded.
